About Northern Rivers Medical Education

A not-for-profit association advancing medical education and professional development across the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales.

Our Purpose

Northern Rivers Medical Education (NRMedEd) is an incorporated not-for-profit association established to advance medical education and professional development for healthcare professionals across the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales.

Our purpose is to provide accessible, high-quality, evidence-based medical education and continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities for medical officers in the region, supporting better outcomes for both practitioners and the communities they serve.

What We Do

NRMedEd facilitates education events, workshops, conferences and seminars that support the ongoing clinical development of junior doctors, senior doctors, general practitioners, clinical supervisors and other medical professionals.

We work to improve access to continuing medical education in rural and regional communities, strengthen the capacity of the local medical workforce, and improve communication and cooperation within the medical specialties community across the Northern Rivers.

Our Goals

Maintain and improve standards of medical practice through research, communication, quality assurance and continuing education
Improve communication and cooperation within the medical specialties community and between medical specialists and other practitioners in the Northern Rivers region
Improve the health care of Northern Rivers residents by utilising the skills and knowledge of local medical specialists more effectively within the regional health system
Support the overall health and wellbeing of the community
Improve access to continuing medical education in rural and regional communities

NRMedEd is governed by an elected committee of medical professionals from across the Northern Rivers region.
